Bourganvillia Apartment was built in the early 1990s. The accommodation is spacious and easy to keep clean with its ceramic tiled floors throughout. We have installed a new kitchen and shower room to the lower level and all the furnishings are new.

SALENTO, PUGLIA

Puglia is the undiscovered part of Italy on the very heel of the country famous for its Trulli (conical roofed farmhouses) great climate, super food and over 20 "Grand Cru" quality vineyards. The cost of living and restaurants is almost embarrassing low.

Our apartment is in the small village of Marina di Novaglie on the quite stunning coastline between Otranto and Santa Maria Di Leuca with steep hills down in to the sparklingly clear Adriatic Sea – all comparable with the Amalfi and Monaco coastlines, but with far fewer people.

The area is relatively undeveloped so sporting, night life and social facilities are limited but the sea on both the Adriatic and the Ionian side of the peninsular is beautiful and the whole area is dotted with towns and villages with wonderful ancient centres having churches, municipal buildings and piazzas, all with typical Italian charm.

Lecce, known as the Florence of the south, is noted for its magnificent baroque architecture. There are many other lovely centres to visit such as Gallipoli and Otranto.

MARINA DI NOVAGLIE

Marina di Novaglie itself is a quiet former fishing village with small marina carved out of the rocks and two restaurants within 500 yards of the apartment.

Advantages:

Decent sized apartment with spacious rooms.

Beautiful coastline with numerous villages and marinas.

Restaurants within walking distance.

Extremely quiet (except July and August when the area is busy with Italian holiday makers).

Everyday requirements in Santa Maria di Leuca approx. 4 miles.

No cranes, no MacDonalds and no Hypermarkets.

Disadvantages:

Car necessary.

No direct sea views from the apartment, although it is only 250m away

Sandy beaches are approx 10 miles away at Torre Vado.

Little night life and no golf, etc., facilities nearby.
