Masseria “Il Frantoio” is at the heart of Armando and Rosalba’s farm. It is not only where they live, with their daughter and her family, but also where, with great warmth and savoir faire, they welcome their guests.
The kitchen ‘belongs’ to Rosalba, a passionate and creative chef. She leads a team of local women in a cuisine that incorporates all the produce of the farm, using ancient recipes passed down through many generations. Throughout the summer months you will eat under the stars in the courtyard.
“Il Frantoio” is in the middle of a 180 acre olive grove which Armando will happily show you around in his classic automobile. He will keenly explain all the different trees, all of which produce our extra-virgin olive oil (five different types). From the sixteenth century Arabic citrus orchard we make different marmalades, all of which are served at breakfast. Breakfast is a delectable feast of home-made cakes and biscuits, local cheeses and salamis and a fantastic array of fresh fruit. Rosolio, a secret and antique digestivo, is also a main feature of “Il Frantoio”. Rosalba’s very own olive-leaf rosolio is unique throughout the word, so much so that in 2005 she received a prestigious ‘Encomio dal Ministero dell’Agricoltura’.
The special atmosphere that you find at “Il Frantoio” comes from it’s authenticity and qualities that are based around a particular respect and love for ambience. “Il Frantoio” is a truly unique haven, a place you will never forget and never want to leave.

The house is set out with antique bedrooms, there are two wonderfully tranquil gardens and a sixteenth century underground olive press. There are many communal areas, such as the upstairs “salone” with its library of some 1,500 books; a testament to an omnipresent passion for literature that goes back centuries. A ten minute drive will lead you to the beach, where there are umbrellas and lounges reserved for our guests.Mountain-bikes available.

Horseriding facilities at 10 minutes by car from Il Frantoio, Golf area in Savelletri at 15Km, Terme in Torre Canne at 10Km.

Available for our guests double, triple and family rooms with private bathrooms and an independent flat composed by two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen use. All of them have the name of a flower or a plant.

Ostuni, "the white village" at 5 km. All around the "Valle D'Itria" with its beatiful places like Martina Franca famous for its baroque art, Cisternino in its authenticity, Locorotondo and Alberobello with nice trulli.
Don't miss natural caves in Castellana Grotte and balconies face on the Adriatic Sea in Polignano a Mare.
At 1 hour and half Castel Del Monte, Trani and the historic Barletta in the North of Puglia and at the same distance the baroque Lecce and the charming Otranto in the South of Puglia.
