Il Mulino di Torrigiani

For over 300 years, Il Mulino di Torrigiani was the olive mill (Frantoio) and grain mill (Mulino) for the Villa Torrigiani, the famous villa of a well-known noble family in nearby Camigliano. Set in a private valley in the hills of Lucca, Il Mulino is surrounded by woods with a trail to a waterfall. The mill is built on its own bridge. Be lulled to sleep by the serene sound of a bubbling brook as it flows beneath the house from the hills above. The ground floor houses the mill's olive grindstones and fireplace, displaying the ancient process of the "frantoio" olive pressing.
