Il Borghetto di San Gimiganno is an ancient villa that belonged to a famous and noble Florentine family in 1600 and then to the Royal House of the Savoia.

It was restored respecting the different architectural and historical periods in which it was built, recovering and valorising the structures, and highlighting the elements and portions that go back even as far as the Middle Ages. It is made up of the manor Villa and its annexes. Located in a beautiful hillside position, directly on the ancient panoramic road which leads to the famous medieval town of San Gimignano and its famous towers, il Borghetto is in a central location: close to all major sights in Tuscany at easy driving distance, though 2 km off the beaten track, here it seems far away from everything, peaceful and quiet.

Rooms

The accommodation is divided into apartments of different sizes (from 50 to 120 squares metres) and typology to better satisfy the different needs of the guests.

They are one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with one or two bathrooms. Each apartment sleeps a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 6 people and is composed of a living room, kitchenette, some have a private terrace or garden or patio and view of the surrounding countryside.

According to the requests we receive we will be pleased to e-mail all information with detailed description of the apartment and its pictures, its price and payment and cancellation policy.

All apartments are equipped with the following comforts: heating/air conditioning, kitchen with a cooking board, sink, refrigerator with freezer, microwave with grill function, dishwasher (only in the larger apartments), toaster, moka (Italian coffee maker) and all the main kitchen utensils.

There is a large supermarket on the road to il Borghetto, 6 km from here. Then all apartments have cable TV with international channels and telephone. Some have a fireplace and all are furnished to recreate that typical Tuscan atmosphere that is characterized by the style and taste that have always distinguished this region.

Facilities

There is a fully equipped laundry at the disposal of the clientele. Upon request not included in the price: cradle, baby sitting, mountain bike, domestic help.

The Villa is surrounded by a large park with secular Cypress trees where the guests may stroll through vast green areas abounding with plants, colourful flowerings and typical scents. To further relax in the peaceful Tuscan countryside, the guests may also enjoy a pergola with wrought iron tables and chairs and a large swimming-pool (m 16x8).

For lovers of fine cuisine and prestigious wines, IL BORGHETTO is pleased to offer the possibility to dine three times a week in the magnificent gardens or else by candlelight in the romantic cellar. Our Chef creates traditional Tuscan dishes, with home-made recipes, accompanied by wonderful local wines and our own fragrant extra-virgin olive oil.

The most important cities and provinces of the arts, such as Siena, Firenze, Lucca, Arezzo and Cortona, Pisa, Pistoia with their piazzas, streets, museums, represent a fascinating stage for art lovers.

These towns are all at easy drive from Il Borghetto, being 1 hour maximum by car.
San Gimignano 4 km, Firenze 40 km, Siena 30 km, Arezzo 90 km, Volterra 30 km, Pisa and Pistoia 90 km, Lucca 100 km , the Chianti region 30 km and the Tyrrhenian sea 90 km away. Sport and nature enthusiastic may take excursions on foot, on horseback or on mountain bike and wander through woods and vineyards, ruins of old churches, castles and lovely old farm buildings.
