The Casa delle Galline, affectionately known by the owners as the Hen House, is a 2 bedroom apartment in a medieval style farmhouse. It is located high in the hills just 25 kms south of Perugia. It is part of the stunning residential complex Le Ginestre di Greppolischieto. The architect, working with original structures, has created anew a traditional medieval borgo or village. This home is on the outside corner of the building Po' Sante di Mezzo with 7 apartments. Most of the apartments are used only infrequently. One can always find solace and relaxation here, but the wealth of art, and history of Umbria is just a short drive away. The house is easily reached from Rome or Firenze. The train stations of Perugia and Chiusi in Tuscany are nearby. Both stations have car hire services close at hand.

The house can comfortably sleep 5 persons. There are two bedrooms. The large room has a double bed; the small room has 2 single beds. There is a comfortable sleep divan in the living room.
The house is built in a traditional rustic style with heavy chestnut beams and cotto floors. There is a large open fireplace. The house is suitable for enjoyment all the year. The British/American family owners have lovingly finished the house with Italian, English and American antiques as well as comfortable locally made arte povera furniture. The corner kitchen is fully equipped with a 4 burner cook top, oven and tall fridge/freezer.

Facilities

The entire property of Le Ginestre is open for your enjoyment. The mingling perfumes of the broom flower with jasmine, lavendar, and rosemary will accompany you on your walks. There are 2 private gardens for the house. The front terrace is perfect for outdoor dining. The back garden looks down into the valley, beautiful and serene. There is a communal swimming pool on the property with deck chairs and umbrellas. There are laundry facilities.
