How's your Italian? Traffic fine payment slips translation ...
How good is your Italian? I've been learning for 3 years now but still struggling with stuff like this, and translation via Google.it or other translators still leaves it in double dutch. I've got a traffic fine. Two payment slips arrived, attached to the same document, in the post and the wording says:
Il bollettino 1 deve essere utilizzato per il pagamento della seguente sanzione nei seguenti casi:
- Quanto la notifica dell’atto è avvenuta presso la residenza del destinatario
- Quando la notifica dell’atto è avvenuta presso l’ufficio postale e quest’ultimo non ha ancora provveduto ad inviare al destinatario dell notifica “la communicazione di avenuto deposito” con un ulteriure raccomandata
Il bollettino 2 deve essere utilizzato solamente per il pagamento della sanzione nel seguente caso:
- quando la notifica dell'atto è avvenuta presso l'ufficio postale e ques'ultimo ha già provveduto ad inviare al destinatario della notifica “la comunicazione de avvenuto deposito” con ulteriore raccomandata
Both are slightly differing amounts for around 80+ Euros. Do I have to pay them both or just one, and which one?

My italian is also very basic, but assuming you are resident in Italy, and the fine is for an offence in the last 6 months, you pay using only one of the two forms - they appear to be for different types of Notification [or so Babelfish says]. Over six months, I beleive it lapses.
I'd take both to the Post Office and ask them which you use to pay it there and then
If you are UK resident - I beleive that the paperwork should be supplied in English to be valid - so you could probably ignore it, or write back in English asking for a translation.

The difference is simply to pay a small extra administrative charge. Pay using bolettino 1 (which should be for a smaller amount) if the fine arrived at your house (you would have had to sign for it), or if you picked it up at the post office (having found their note of having tried to deliver it).
If you didn't pick up the first delivery of the notice of the fine (and have had a letter saying you didn't do this) then you should use bolettino 2, and effectively pay them the extra for their postage etc costs.
I have assumed your fine arrived at an Italian adddress, if it arrived at a UK address I'd follow alanh's advice and demand an 'authorised translation'!

I agree with Fillide''s translation. The second bolletino is to be used only if the post office had to send you a second notification. There should be an extra charge for that. If you received your notification at home or you picked it up at the post office without any reminder, the first bolletino is the one to be used. The reminder (if any) should have reached you via certified mail.
