An update following our recent trip:
Mercatino dell'Usato at Lucca has dramatically increased prices. Really too expensive for second hand, they practically match antique shops prices on selected items - and some were nothing more than rubbish - and I do hope that they will come back to their senses. Still, worth a visit to compare.
Antiques and Vintage Market at Lucca on the 3rd Sunday of the month. Excellent prices! It looks as if people are feeling the pinch and there are quite a few bargains to be had if you negotiate prices. We bought ourselves a pair of Savonarola chairs at an excellent price, I will not tell you how much or how little not to make you envious.
