I've had quotes from the UK LHD dealers on what they would give me for the car, but I would like to avoid returning to the UK with it if I can. We may be best advised to keep it and put it on Italian plates. If we do, we'll have to try to avoid the swingeing Italian insurance costs by exploiting your suggestions on expat insurance.
But that depends in turn on whether we can register it in my name without me having to have residence...
