Buying in Calabria
Hi All,
I was about to post in the Calabria forum, but felt I ought to say hello here first. We are buying a viletta near Tropea, part investment part off peak retreat and were impressed by the unspoilt nature of the area. There does not appear to be much discussion here regarding Calabria, in part I suspect it is not an area that attracts neither workers from the UK nor people looking to retire - hence not many people to discuss it's merits or otherwise.
I note there is some discussions over Basilicata and Calabria could be next as there are many Brits reserving properties following their inspection trips. From what I can gather on the Internet many of the bigger agents are moving in on the area and I only hope they are not allowed to ruin it.
The current appeal for us is the unspoilt nature with few english-speaking locals/tourists.
I would be pleased to hear from anyone else who has an interest in the area, especially around Tropea.
