The almond flavouring I use is 'Lochhead's Natural Almond Extract'. It is an American product I get from the British company Lakeland Ltd. So many flavouring are now made in chemical factories and have never been near the natural 'name/product'.
Vanilla flavouring - never seen a vanilla bean etc.
The 'deception' is in the wording - flavouring can mean anything, but extract has to be from the natural/real product.
Good idea about the almond liqueur, I'll try it next time.
