The area is stunningly beautiful in places and pretty unspoiled and we too are hoping that all these new holiday developments will not ruin the general look and feel of the place. There are some english tourists around but Tropea itself is somewhat over run at times with germans as Calabria is a very popular holiday destination there and is advertised mercilessly in Germany it seems.

We have been getting around quite a lot and we are getting to know the area quite well and know all the train routes, best roads and flights etc. So, if you have any questions please feel free to ask and hopefully we will be able to help you.

We have been into the Sila National Park and that was stunning, in fact it quite took our breath away and we are looking forward to another trip up there. We are also slowly but surely checking our some of the bigger cities and a few other areas and villages - fascinating stuff!

Anyway, get in touch and hopefully we can be of some help to you.

Look forward to hearing from you.
Hello, Paolina,
My name is MaryAnn and my husband and I are arriving in Calabria on July 11 and staying until July 27. We are going to determine if Calabria is the place in which we want to buy a small home to live there permanently. I am of Italian heritage, speak it so so, and I have a feeling that I will love the area. We thought Abruzzo was it, and I had eliminated Calabria, but now I am happy to see it. Just hope all homes are not on mountains and I also hope all the developments do not ruin it. We are first going down the west coast and then going to the east coast. Would just love to meet up with some others for a little.
We are from the US. Where are you from?
We would love to hear from you. Take care...
MaryAnn
