I'm sure that anne2, being in the health business, wouldn't recommend a dubious supplier, and the Brighton firm, being in the UK and thus European probably won't flag anything up at customs. I wonder what method they use for shipment - anything other than post office I would be careful.
Because, it could rather depend on what the Italian authorities consider 'dubious'. I had a slightly costly experience ordering some herbal supplement stuff from the US to be shipped into Italy. The value was about $20, so when FedEx demanded €80 for the 'sdoganamento' (customs clearance), plus the €4 or so (20%IVA), plus the €2 or so (10% import duty) PLUS another €4 or so for the ASL (health authority) 'approval' even though the supplement was not labelled a medicine....well, it seemed easier just to cut my losses!
So, that experience (apart from never use FedEx into Italy) flags up for me a legitimate concern: there are probably drugs approved for UK use which are not approved in Italy - (if for no other reason than that the Italian health authorities have made a huge effort to get generic rather than brand name drugs prescribed). Or maybe they are OTC in the UK and not in Italy.
I don't want to dissuade you from buying medicinal drugs in the UK - (for sure the Italian pharmacies bring a whole new meaning to the word 'rip-off') - but I would be interested to hear from people who have successfully ordered and had delivered products from an European (ex-Italy) online pharmacy.
