Calabria Calabria is a charming fusion of mountains and wonderful coastline scattered with Greek ruins and beautiful hill-towns.

Default Furniture nr San Nicola Arcella

Hi everyone,

We have just completed on a small 2 bedroomed apartment in San Nicola bought through Annie at Andiamo Homes [as with others on this forum we would thoroughly recommend this company].

We are looking to furnish with beds, sofa`s, white goods etc and looking to renew the kitchen and bathroom.

We would be grateful of any personal recommendations re suitable outlets for the above items.

We would want to buy locally in San Nicola , Priar and Scalea.

We would be grateful for any advice.

Cheers

Martin

I only have experience of shops in Scalea and across our way (further South) but we bought a kitchen and two leather sofas from Sarubbi in Scalea (they are on the Corso Meditteraneo so are easy to find and their shop has new signwriting that also reads Casa Si.
Haven't been in the showroom lately but it looks very swish indeed after a recent refit.
Also have bought electrical appliances from Expert aka Cinema in Scalea which is opposite Bar La Playa which is again on the main road.
We have bought furniture and a washing machine from Centregrosse (above the Spar) but the one in Scalea seems to be in the midst of a re-organisation at the moment and I don't know how long that will last (there's another larger Spar near Diamante but that is maybe too far out for you).
There appears to be a large furniture shop in Praia, which I don't have any direct experience of, which is called mobili2c.
The address is V. Cavaliere Pasquale Longo, 71 and it sells "a wide selection of furniture, antique and modern furniture, 'arte povera' furniture, lighting, bathrooms, living rooms, everything wicker, bed bases, mattresses, domestic appliances, interior decoration."
HTH, Lesley

I too own a property in San Nicola Arcella. I am considering next year perhaps having some furniture shipped across from the UK to San Nicola, via Salerno. Perhaps you may be interested in sharing a container? I am in San Nicola on April 4, if you are about!
Regards
Fiona

You said you wanted to buy locally; but if you're interested there's an IKEA in Naples.

Benvenuto Mobili in Grisolia Scalo, sign posted off SS18 just pass Santa Maria dei Cedri. Great service really good product. Made me a great little kitchen corner and are making our bedroom furniture. Very reasonably priced. Closed on Sundays but open all day the rest of the week. Ask for Signor Vito. Very efficient.
