Is your house the rather luxurious looking one in a mustard yellow colour? If so we can see you from across the valley.

Arrived into Malpensa and no problems getting car. Though wanted to try a fiat 500 but got a lancia ypsilon. Drove down to abetone next morning via modena passing the ferrari factory.

Had a good meal at the hotel just off the main square in abetone and went up to the apartment smerelda in val di luce. It was fine but small with no oven!! How can you cook without an oven?

Monday we tried to ski a bit and alex(5) had a lesson with Francesca from scuola di sci val di luce. Weather was good and it was really easy going out of the apartments right onto the slopes. Next day we had a lesson with Lucca and alex had another one with Francesca. Both instructors were really great. If you are on the forum or if anyone knows them …thanks. Had a good pizza for lunch in val di luce.

Wednesday we went over to Baccana, licciana Nardi where our house is to meet with the builders. Really nice weather and got a few things sorted. Came back through San Pelligrino in Alpe…..whooooo what a road…

Weather was wet on Thursday so we went to Firenze ……. Sort of enjoyed it BUT its REALLY touristy compared to Lunigiana and around Abetone…and EXPENSIVE.

Friday seemed ok but even the 2 runs behind the apartment were closed so we skied a bit taking turns in the car to ferry us back up the slope.

Enjoyed the holiday but were a bit disappointed the pistes closed ½ days Wednesday to Friday and also for the weather. Hopefully our own house will soon be partly finished so we can then go to prato spilla.

Sport professional did us a good price on ski rental and were really helpful.

Hi,

We are practically neighbours, have a house in Comano village and just back in Ireland after a wonder Easter week.
Your house looks wonderful.
Regards

hi annette,

where are you from in Ireland. Our friends have a house in Bastia...they are from Groomsport and we are Newtownards. Go quite often to Galeti in Crespiano for lunch when we meet the builder. Really looking foreward to getting at least some of the house up and running so we can get out more often. Thanks for the comments on the house but at the minute looks like a lot of money to us...ah well bit by bit it will get sorted. plan is to start will the cantina first and new roof and structure and work from there.

will keep the forum updated on our progress.....

mark.

Try Anna's in the centre of Licciana Nardi by the goofy junction; her EUR10 lunches are stunning (primi, secondi, dolce, cafe, wine & water)

....bingo!
