Default Skiing!

Just to let everybody know that the main resorts are up and running. I went yesterday to Pila, and although not many lifts were running there was virtually nobody there and the snow quality was gorgeous. Cervinia, Courmayeur and La Thuile are partly open, and more snow is forecast at the weekend and temperature levels will be coming down.

To whet your appetite some more:

It certainly looks set to be a better season than last year, so wax your skis or build up a healthy appetite for some robust Valdostana food.

I was intending to ski today, but skiing and footie training last night meant my legs said no.....

Default Info on Cervinia

A little late in saying how jealous I am at the thought of having Cervinia on our "doorstep". We have skied/skiid/skeed/skided (non lo so!) there many times when we lived in the UK - it became our favourite of all European resorts and was what made us think that Italy was the place to live and not France when we jumped the rat race - phew that was a close one!!
Don't suppose you or anyone else knows any dog friendly, value for money appartments in/around Cervinia. We have one large and one small dog and would hate to leave them behind in Lunigiana if we fixed up a slide down memory lane.

Sorry I didn't get back earlier, been in the UK and skiing: lot better snow this year.

I've got no particular knowledge but have a lookat the ENIT web-site, where hotels which accept pets have the symbol as shown in following example. Not sure about apartments but I'll have a look around..

Or try the Regione site, with all the different types of accommodation: don't recommend the camping at the moment, but if you can get away now the snow IS good....
