When on the subject of using Castor oil, I think I remember reading in some reference book how it was used as an engine lubricant in early WW1 biplanes, however the fumes laxative properties could cause problems apparently for the pilot sitting just behind the engine in his smoky cockpit, ... Red Baron on your tail and caught short at 5,000 ft !!! ...
Hate that ! What a bummer.
