It depends on how much you want to spend of course. For a fairly cheap lunch you can't better a self-service restaurant in the main square of Piazza Bra practically in front of the Arena and among the main restaurants. The food is excellent for the price. It costs 3 euros each course i.e. risotto, pasta or steak etc. It will also cost 3 euros for a first course or a sweet. Cappacino is 1.10 euros. I think it is still open as it was last week.

All the other restaurants are about the same, they are all quite good. Or you could walk to San Zena where there are some excellent cafes that serve really nice sandwiches etc.

Enjoy your lunch in Verona.

I had the best lunch I've ever eaten at a restaurant called the 12 Apostles (in Italian obv!) when I was on honeymoon in Verona. Not cheap but fantastic. They even take you to see the Roman remains in their cellar...

Have you been there valgee? If you're not up for a gastronomic splurge otherwise I agree that the outside cafes opposite the arena are lovely..
