Default IKEA Sale - Ancona

Hi does anyone know when the IKEA sale starts and finishes in Ancona in January.
Are the sale periods generally the same as here? - We want to buy a kitchen and need to plan our trip from the UK - apologies to all the IKEA haters but needs must.................thanks

Hi Ian The one in the UK starts on the 18th December. I think Italy tends to be later. You could always ring/e-mail them. A suggestion that it's worth joining IKEA Family if you are spending a lot of money. They have special offers. Free delivery a couple of years ago.

Hi Ian and Sandra, don't know about Ikea but someone in san ginesio is selling the whole contents of their house. May be worth taking a look just in case. PM me and will give you contact details if you are interested.

Pam

Hi and thanks for that - you would not believe how difficult it is to contact the store - have tried this already - they do not accept e-mails and there is only one number for all stores in Italy which does not work from the UK!
If anyone would be kind enough to phone them and find out the sale dates we'd be really grateful - the number is 119 11 46 46

Bad news about the e-mail. However you could ring Customer Services UK and they might be able to help ie give you the number of Head Office Italia or actually know the answer. They did for me. Worth a try.

I cannot profess to being an IKEA expert, but I go there sometimes, and I've never seen an Italian branch having a 'sale' in the sense that you mean.

If you consult the 2008/9 catalog, it will tell you (somewhere near the back), that between certain dates you can have certain special offers. I have never seen kitchens on 'cheap'.

I could be completely wrong, and in today's retail climate they are probably flying by the seat of their pants, so maybe it'll be different! You could always check out IKEA | arredamento, arredamenti, arredo, mobili, cucina, cucine, divano, divani, letto, letti, librerie (usually a pretty useless and misinformative site).

Good luck!

Hi,

I don't know if this helps but we had to get in touch with IKEA at Ancona and after trying to phone the central number and getting totally lost with the maze of menu's after the 10th time we gave up and called the business number. This is 0714607419 (which someone very kindly suggested elsewhere on the forum).

We tried many times and it was an answer machine but first thing yesterday morning we managed to get through and the lady who answered was very very helpful and even spoke a little English. She asked IKEA Ancona to phone us back and even though we were very doubtful, to our amazement they called back within 10 minutes.

Hope this helps and good luck - you will need it!!!!!

Thank you - will certainly give it a go and let you know - we've also looked at kitchen showrooms in Pesaro and Fano previously - do outlets other than Ikea have january sales?

Have you tried Mondo Convenienza? Here is a list of their different locations:

Mondo Convenienza | Arredamento e Mobili per la tua casa

I cannot recommend them, because our kitchen had to be custom made by a cabinet maker because of difficulties in the layout and uneven walls, but I have visited their store near Florence and they look very nice and well priced. As it is the case with IKEA, I do not think that they have sales as such but special offers from time to time. That may also be the case with other kitchen shops, they are not items which are frequently on discount. Best luck!
