Default Ikea again

I am told that in the U.K it is possible to go into Ikea ,order a large item and have it delivered within a couple of days.Does anyone know if Ikea in Italy will deliver within such a short time as it would help people -like me -who need to buy large items of furniture but are only in Italy for a few days at a time.

Default No No

A couple of days in the UK.- I'd be surprised. I have found deliveries at least a couple of weeks in Italy and usually they don't arrive when they predict. I don't know where you are but you could buy online if you are in the Lombardia region, though that doesn't solve someone being there for the delivery. This is the link - IKEA - Eshop

(A couple of annying points. They haven't increased the area the Eshop covers, well over a year later when it was first introduced. You should compatre it to France where every area is covered and the website is available in French and English)

What I'm finding out more and more is the role being able to leave your keys with neighbours and prior giving their contact details to IKEA.

Happy Ikeaing!!!

I would be very surprised it they delivered within a couple of days but I guess it would depend on stock availability in their warehouse and where you live as they seem to deliver to certain areas on certain days.

Don't forget that most things are held in the shop and are available immediately for collection so if you hired a van from them or elsewhere you could have the items the same day!

going off thread slightly ...but i couldn't really start another Ikea one... it would just be too embarrassing...anyway seems they are having a bit of trouble in the south... paid someone 14 million euro..i think it is to purchase land and start getting projects set up...and after two years ... no land...money gone and still no Ikea in Sicily... their lawyers are now hunting down the man with the money but as yet no news... basically Ikea seems to have been taken... it will be interesting to see if the Swedish giant can either get its money back or ever be able to build down there.....

meantime they still show planned openings for the Sicilian shops...but its all been there a long long time... just shows its not only unfortunate private foreign house buyers that can get caught out
