Re: And God Gave Us Pics
Pixdaus, God Gave Us Pics! I agree, they are a superb set of photographic Images...... and here comes the 'but'.... Many of them have been 'created' rather than taken. In many of these images there has been a significant use of graduated coloured filters to alter the original colouring, and in others, photoshoping to enhance or make a new image from the original picture. See for example the, photograph entitled 'Tuscany', note the use of the graduated orange filter to give the false impression that this shot was taken to capture a beautiful misty sunrise/sunset, or indeed the photo of 'Venice' immediately above it where it is plain to see that the water has been painted on electronically, no ripples, no wind etc, and look closely at the buildings in the background, they look like they have been drawn by hand. There are others as well but I could be here all night. That having been said, as pieces of art they do work very well, but I would hesitate to call them photographs, though for Sally's sake I think we can say that the guy at the Piazza Novona is All Italian .......(don't mind me, it's just jealousy ).

I like the washing line on a Venetian house.I do have a "thing" about washing lines. On my only visit to Portofino I was entranced by the tiny jewel of a bay where I was convinced someone had painted a line of washing on one of the bright coloured buildings. The clothes were all white and very delicate looking and hung down in fine points like a string of frail looking ghosts,
quite still. I was really impressed by this "mural" until the breeze blew. In our Italian house I adore having a washing line that hangs down from the balcony. Do I need psychiatric help? ciao pam |

For those of you interested in Marche, I can recommend a fantastic photographic book by a local photographer called Giorgio Tassi. They are all of the National Park and his pictures are spectacular. I will try to find his website again and post it here but you can buy the book alled "Monti Sibillini" from the Casa del Parco in Amandola where they have a copy you can flick through.
Look here for some samples of his work: Comunicazione - Comuni Stampa, Giornale del Parco and click on Galleria or archivio fotografico. Last edited by Penny; 24-07-08 at 04:20 PM. Reason: Found some pics |
