I have found three more photos. My dear husband has taken lots of them; however they only show little details which have to be fixed and things which are only interesting for him as an architect looking at the works to be carried out.... Anyway, here we go
MULINO ATTIC SPACE.jpg

MULINO FEATURE WALL.jpg

MULINO SIDE.jpg

The building is what the Italians would describe as "terratetto a piani sfalsatti", so it has several levels and sub-levels within the 4 storey structure. Very interesting, as it gives more movement and feeling of space than ordinary constructions.
I promise more interesting photos when we'll come back.
Cheers,

Just an update. Yesterday we finally heard from our Geometra!!! He sent us a fax as he does not know how to use the email!!!!???? Anyway, our lovely agent was keeping us informed about what was going on.
The Geometra says that yesterday the "muratore" finished repairing the roof and a few holes in three different levels of the mill. The old "tenants from hell" had installed a wood burning heater when they were there (I don't understand why because the house had central heating installed with a gas boiler), made all the necessary holes, but then... I don't know who removed the heater and left the holes instead...
Fortunately, the geometra is very happy because they managed to find the exact cotto tiles which were needed and according to him it looks as it the holes were never there...
Next week the electrician and the plumber come in to fix a few things and it should all be ready when we arrive on the 24th. Fingers crossed!
Anyway, there is plenty to do... kitchen cupboards, basic furniture... Fortunately we found a place to rent very close to the mulino.
I will take some photos and let you know.
Cheers!

Hi again! Just back from Bagni di Lucca and two weeks sorting out problems and trying to get the place organised. We had all sorts of experiences which I will tell you about as we always learn something from somebody else's mistakes... but, overall, a very good stay which convinced us further that we did the right thing when we decided to buy the old mill. I will also have some photos so that you will see some of the furniture and things we are putting into it. But you will have to wait for a few days. We have our youngest daughter arriving from London tonight, the house is a mess and I have to prepare her a "Minestra Garfagnina" for dinner....

Default Meraviglioso!

Reading your posts Gala reminds me of our excitement when we bought our place 18 months ago now.

Hope you have a great time making the changes you want and moving in!

We have had a wonderful Geometra and team of builders who have done all we wanted, and more, and come in under budget. We are delighted, hope you get at least as good an experience.

I promised more photos; however, I am having some problems inserting them in the text. Here is one that shows what we have been doing last December. It needs a coat of paint, the new kitchen to be installed and a long etc.....

Might be worth grouping all the photos together in an album in your profile
