DSCN1664-2.jpg Hi Licciana, Thank you for your comments I may get in trouble for not following Ronald's instructions, but these are the only two photos remaining and I do not think that it is such a good idea to start an album for 2 photos. I will do it after my May trip when I will have plenty more to choose from. Bear in mind that at this stage, the house needs a fresh coat of paint and I haven't had a chance to hang more paintings, etc. At this stage, it is lacking some colour touches.

Gala, you can try an image hosting web site like Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket. You upload and copy the code they give for an image then insert the code into your post. That way the images are large format without clogging up Ronald's disk space!!! Try it.

Hi everyone! Finally back from lovely Bagni di Lucca. We worked very hard but the results are great. I will try to organise a photo album when the computers or the technicians decide to cooperate (we arrived to find that none of the two were working, I am currently using my husband´s old faithful dinosaur of computers, but it is the only one in action). The kitchen looks great, small, compact, very easy to use and very well built, including the marble benchtop in two different heights to fit with the very low window. I find it more practical than the larger one I have at home. The local cabinetmaker, Gabrielli, did an excellent job. Very pleased. We also have now a "Madonnina" in a "nicchia" (niche).... well, actually it was always there until the previous owner decided to cover it with bricks and mortar because he was letting the house to some Muslims who objected to her presence. When I realised what had happened I immediately decided to restore the "nicchia". The neighbours, some lovely people who hand produce the most lovely religious images, gave me as a gift a beautiful "Madonnina" and they now proudly show it to everyone around. I think that they have considered it as a kind of atonement and they feel very happy about what we did. But I will tell you the full story some other time, including some photos. Cheers!

It is typically Tuscan. There are many houses in the area in the same style: stone, huge beams, cotto floors and ceilings, thick walls... I am now trying to trace the history of the mill, but apparently it was operating until some 30 years ago. There was even a bakery where I now have a second kitchen-laundry.
