Red face ron austin

Hi everyone, have been reading this forum for sometime, thought I should join in.My wife and I have finally bought a house in the hills above San Severino (she hasnt seen it yet )work was due to start this month , but hasnt started due to the usual factors,September is the new date. The house was purchased on the basis that we would be resident for more than 6 months of the year.Has anyone had experience of applying for residency in the Comune of San Severino,as there appears to be widespread discrepencies between areas.
We are both over official retirement age,do we need proof of income and private health insurance ?
Any advice would be of help.

Don't know about San Severino, but in general the answer is yes you do need both. Welcome to the forum

Welcome Ron and good luck with your projects. I do not know what the Comune at San Severino would require from you, but do a little search through the threads and you will find that most local authorities ask for the same kind of documents.
Very best wishes,

Hello Ron and welcome I suggest you go to the local commune office to the anagrafe's office and ask what is required, I do not know what your Italian is like but these people are usually very helpful. When you have all the necessary gathered together the process is quite quick and you should be given an ID card and a six month temporary certificate of residence a permanent one being available later. PS you may be required to stand on a height measuring device looking like it was last used by Mussolini!
I don't think you will require any proof of health provision and I was simply asked for a verbal statement re income. Mind you I am a pensioner!
