Default hello

Having just joined the forum,Id thought that I would say hello and introduce myself. My name is Maurice and I live in Kent.I first visited Italy in 1982 and have loved the country ever since though I did have a fascination with the place before that.Unfortunatley,I have been back just four times since then. This is probably due to finance than anything else, but Im working on it.Im 45 but plan to go back at least twice before I reach 50.Not exactly a tall order but we will see.Anyway, looking forward to chatting and discussing various aspects of this fantastic country with whoever might want to.
ciao

Welcome to the forum Maurice.

Italy is indeed one of those countries, which get under the skin, I hope you manage to get out here to visit and enjoy the place and the people.

At the moment where I am in Abruzzo it is very hot, but at least we had a thunderstorm today so I haven’t had to go out watering this evening.

Hope you enjoy the forum

Thankyou Nielo for your message. My first of many,I hope.I cant get to Italy quick enough but its not going to happen just yet. After reading Villas piece on Bologna,Ireally like the sound of the place.Verona is up there too,but I suspect I may opt for somewhere in the Chianti area.Spoilt for choice. How long have you been in Italy for ?It must be fantastic.
ciao,
Maurice

I have lived here for almost 3 years now but as my mum was Italian I have visited many, many times.

When you do manage to get some time out here, why not try touring around and seeing several different areas/towns? If you are not keen on driving the trains are a good and cheap alternative means of travel.

Sounds like a good idea to tour around.More than likely,we will probably end up going to a campsite we have been to,a couple of times before, close to Figline Valdarno. Its perfect for the family and my daughter loved it,as we all did.Just as long as I get to Italy, thats the main thing.
My Italian isnt that good ,partly as I dont get much time to study it but I will carry on regardless.Get there in the end.
