Default Huge Operation Against Mafia

The Spanish radio has just announced that there is a huge operation taking place in both Sicily and Tuscany by joint Italian forces. It is called the "Perseo" operation and they have already arrested some 100 people, many of them "capi di mafia" one as old as 87 years of age. They say that it is a major blow to the Mafia which was trying to rebuild its structure which was a bit shaky. I have not seen any news in English as yet giving more detailed information but it looks as if the operation is not finished and there could be more arrests.

It seems not from the various articles I am reading. However have a look at this absurd situation - An Italian prison is empty three years after being built because no road leads to it - Italian prison empty three years after being built because no road leads to it - Telegraph

It was probably the 'Ndrangheta who got the contract to build the prison in the first place - of course it has no decent road leading to it.

It's all part of the master plan!

If the operations against the Mafia are so successful, they may have to build the road after all.....

I'm trying so so hard to try to figure out why it is costing them two million euros yearly to run the place. ..... No road, so no - one there, not even a caretaker???
