Seguire attentamente le istruzioni:
1) Create un file qualsiasi
2) Chiamatelo «Prodi»

From tomorrow no need to repeat this procedure.

Cool One for the nerds!

So it's only been 9 months (or so!). I guess that this puts Prodi in a pretty poor position on the 'leader board':

today could prove an interesting day in lessons on how to wriggle out of things.... Prodi Bis is the term of the day.... and would mean that the existing government will return to the camera for a vote of confidence and will win and be back in....

what the consensus basically is that this would be legal under the constitution but that in practical terms of running the country very little help as there are two or three critical voting days arriving where the Prodi government does not have the support of its mebers... and so it will all collapse again... indeed if Prodi Bis does arrive it could well be shorter than Prodi 1 st as there has been so much hate generated against various people and institutions here after the vote yesterday...

the communists are the parties calling for Prodi to continue and see no reason for him to resign... they are putting the vote yesterday down to a Vatican plot against Prodi because of the new family law...due to be voted on in the next month... they have also been castigating the senator that voted against the government even though on principle at least e has been consistant in his anti wars...peace stance for a long time... more consistent than a lot of the extreme left that march against Prodi and then go back to parliament and vote with him....

i actually think there will be very little honor displayed today unless the president of the republic insists on it in at least practical terms and says to Prodi enough ... you won the election because you proposed an agenda so wide that all left wing parties thought they could get something out of it but politically the centre left is as far from the extreme left as the right and there is no point in continuing...

apart from that independant polls here show that the country is in favour of Prodi going and elections being called .... by a quite large majority ...and that includes many voters from the centre left and extreme left...

I just read a quote from President Napolitano who declared immediately after the demonstration at Vicenza that “Demonstrations in the street are legitimate but it’s leading you astray to think that they are the salt of democracy.”

...........a man with his finger on the pulse, eh?

So, it seems that Prodi's down, but not out?

There's a 12-point programme, that seems to form the basis of Prodi's cunning plan to retain cross-party support but strangely enough, it includes support for Italy's military presence in Afghanistan; the one thing that sparked the revolt off in the first place!

As President, Napolitano has to decide whether to ask Mr Prodi to form a new government or call fresh elections......it seems we should know more today.
