Default will prodi survive november ??

with the mastella problem solved yesterday... there always seems to be a mastella problem... the government survived another vote in parliament

however its just about being talked about everywhere here that the goverment will fail on the 14 th of November... very precise date in what to me seems a very imprecise world of politics..

there are several views on when the next election will be... the right want it straight away...the left and the UDC want a technical goverment to run the place and set up new election rules...with the vote taking place within the first three months of the next year..

it will be interesting to see if what is being said is true and that the vote due on the 14th will be the day that the senate decides that there has been enough arguing amongst the left wing parties and that the country just cannot survive much more...

There's one more element that adds to 'interesting times' coming -> BBC NEWS | Europe | Berlusconi cleared of corruption but I'd understood that Berlu was grooming a successor.....

the people under investigation now for corruption or abuse of privilege are from the top Prodi and Mastella...in the wings and waiting are the vice president D,Alema... waiting for the European court to decide because at the time of the so called corruption he was an EU parlimentarian... and there are various others somewhat minor in their roles... who are also involved in various mis selling and using privileged knowledge...

for a change the majority under investigation are left wing ... there are also cases going on against sevral politicians involving EU funds and their mis use, mafia and politicians combined and god knows what else...hence grillos popularity as Italy struggles along with the largest western parliament in the world costing the most and with the most criminals...at least convicted ones within...

the amazing thing about mastella is that he is the justice minister under investigation for trying to move the investigating magistrate on his case to another area... bumping him off the case... and yet he still remains justice minister... in charge of all and sundry involved in the thing...

berlusconi was almost an angel compared to this lot.... and you know the judges would be doing him no favors at all ...they are virtually all left of left... and especially hate berlusconi for his attempts...well his governments ...to actually streamline the justice system here and get someone to actually do a days work... court queues here are something like seven years minimum...

thats old news,i believe berlo wanted it to go out on all his stations 12 weeks ago, but was told it was best left till the judges came back with the same verdict!

Its beyound believe that anyone could have thought he would be found guilty.
This is Italy remember!
