Default Foreign Dogs Not Allowed.

Our favorite (deputy) mayor, Giancarlo Gentilini of the Lega Nord in Treviso, has entered the murkey waters of xenophobia once again.

Speaking to a group of Forestale dog handlers, he proclaimed that Italy should not allow any foreign dogs to be kept in Italy (or at least in Treviso!)

This rather odd chap has tried to emulate the impassioned pleas of Bossi for racial purity several times before, including the removal of all of the benches in the local parks so that they couldn't be used by immigrants.

So. No poodles, Cavalier King Charles, Alsations (really, Giancarlo?) and, more especially, Labradoodles. Away with you and get back to where you came from! Etc...

Story from ANSA.

Perhaps it is just to reduce the number of dogs that are bought as fashion items, until the next fad comes up and the last years "chic" pooch gets thrown out. Or maybe he prefers cats as they are more likely to curl up on his lap and not bite him back. So it will be no Siamese, Persians etc next I expect.
What a sad individual!!!

When you think that the Maremmano is descended from the Hungarian Kurvatz, then I suppose all the sheep farmers would have to give theirs up as well. Sanity does not exist with some of these idiot politicians. Wonder if they should go back on his family history....... perhaps he would then be deported as well.

Clearly one of the most important issues facing Treviso, Italy and come to think of it probably the whole world today.
