Question Are we just 'second class' members?

I find it somewhat difficult not to be annoyed or to join in the general and specific complaints about lack of information here on Italy Magazine Forums.

I understand the possible explanation furnished by Adriatica regarding weekend upgrades, financial considerations etc.

BUT - isn't there always a 'but' - why does the Administration (and that means Ronald in our case) at least post a warning PRIOR to such work taking place. Is it really beyond the realms of common sense for the people who 'own' Italy Mag to ensure that this guy ('R') isn't just left to get on with it all on his own? And what about the pre-existing and the recently recruited moderators? Were they 'in the know' or, like us 'in the dark'?

OK - so the 'IM Forums' won't allow the owners to retire in luxury - but they are visited by pretty large numbers of Italy Magazines viewers - and that in itself must be advatageous to their overall strategy of getting in the punters and getting them to spend money on IM's services!

I don't think the membership of the Forums should be considered - or treated as second class members when all it requires is 60 seconds to write a message advising us of what is going on!!!

Ronald (obviously) didn't post any warning because he didn''t know the forum was going to go tits up. But that doesn't exculpate him. As "webmaster", he shouldn't not even be looking at the board for forty-eight hours (at least).

I can't disagree that some warning would have been helpful, but let's give Ronald some credit for acheiving some amazing updates here with scarcely a moment's down-time. Don't be too hard on him -I mean, 8.48 on a Sunday morning.... sheesh!

Yes Marc is right. The site was only down for less than a day in January when Ronald did these updates. He also warned us in advance. Perhaps as I said in the duplicate thread, he hadn't anticipated this what can only be described as a "mess"!!!

The main problem has been trying to replicate the problems - while there is work going on the property part of the website no changes to the forums side. But it might be that our server is crunching through thousands of properties to move them to a new database.

Please let me know if problems are persisting and exactly what you are seeing.

Many thanks,

Ronald

Could you be so kind as to rephrase that Ronald??? It seems double Dutch to me!!! I'm still seeing three duplicate posts too.

Turtle, I think what you really mean is this: You're seeing 1 post in TRIPLICATE, yes?
