Default Interesting posts

For information, I always look for posts by Sebastiano and Adriatica amongst others, but for enjoyment? Well, someone called GeorgeS used to write here and his were always amusing but he hasn't posted for a long time now. I seem to recall some falling out amongst Forum members. Are there any other places similar to this Forum where one can ask about all things Italian? I think there is an expat one but do not know the site.
Annie.

On the members list GeorgeS has metamorphosed into GuestS for some obscure reason and I think he can be found at ‘Italian Fever’.

Another site is ‘Italia Uncovered’ where you might recognise a few names.

Hope this helps.

Ah Gio beat me to it!

One of my favorite people who post is Hereallready. I have laughed and cryed at her very witty and sometimes sad tales. I'd love to hear more and I would definatly recommend her for the oscar

In that case Ronnie's a strong contender. This thread had 180 replies and so far has had nearly ten and a half thousand views.

I expect it was too much to hope for positive favourites which was the initial request on this post, hey ho, and off you go again.

You have left me a little confused by your response to sancho, clearly he
remembers that thread and believes it worthy, so really do not understand
your negative response?

I have my personal favourite too, clearly will not be your cuppa tea, but then
the wild boar was not mine either.

Look again at my post. My point - which you appear to fail to grasp - was that going by Tuscanhills' suggested criteria (# of replies, # of views), then the originator of that thread (Ronnie) would be a strong contender for the prize.

I doubt if the posts with the most views are necessarily those that offer either a real insight into italy or any valid advice but are more likely to attract viewers similar to those awful people who slow down to look at accidents on the motorways!

There are some folk who are a great source of information such as LTR, Adriatica, Stribs and - in a previous life- widow twanky, and those who just speak from the heart like Turtle - who often finds herself causing friction but I am sure without any malice aforethought (have always wanted an opportunity to use that phrase!).

I love watching newbies step cautiously into the arena, find their place and go on to provide really good opinions on a variety of topics.

Perhaps the categories could be launched and we could then post our nominations. If there is one for most spelling mistakes i will nominate myself as without the benefit of spellcheck I am hopeless!

I beg to differ. This link leads to one of the longest running, highest hit upon threads on this forum and contains real insight into Italy and Italian life, with lots of advice from its main contributor.
