3-4 inches here (Macerata province) on Boxing Day, and more last night. It's still falling now, though the clouds have lifted a bit.

Quite a few inches here in Friano as well. Went out for a walk thismorning with the dog and it was beautiful and pristine. Not a car track in sight, just the footprints of deer in the snow.
Has now stopped, but expect more overnight!!!

Been snowed in since Boxing day.

Thawing and snowing at the same time so keeping to about 4 inches. We are at 500 m but we can see that down the valley is clear.

We have loads of food and drink in the cantina, logs for the fire and are happy to sit it out, We have to clear the snow off the LNB occasionally so as to receive UK TV bit apart from that life is pretty good and the dogs love it.

Lucky sod! No snow here = house full of visitors. I escape to the study every half an hour - just in time for the next batch of mince pies to be ready.

Everyone comments on how wonderful they are, but I will never admit to buying them.

Minus 8°C here this morning....once again, heavy snow 'forecast' for tonight and all day tomorrow. But these forecasts change almost by the hour when there are mountains around!

The diesel in my son's hire car engine was frozen this morning, so they were late leaving for the airport! I never even knew that could happen.

Just been out in the snow, not a problem. Remember to drop the tyre pressures a little if you are using snow tyres. Ours are down 0.2 bar for this weather and the handling is much better, as more rubber to grip with!!!!

Carole,

Next time they come in winter, they might want to ask at the rental car company as I believe there is an additive you can use so this doesn't happen. My parents have a diesel and when they lived in the cold climate, they used a block heater which they plugged in every night.
