Default Which Province are we in?

Just looking up some information on Amandola and it seems that we are likely to be changing Provinces, from Ascoli Piceno to Fermo. The new Fermo province was created in 2004 and in 2009 the full change is due to take effect.
A search for Amandola shows on some entries as AP and others as FM. Very confusing

If you look here Portale Ufficiale della Provincia di Fermo it tells you all about it and gives you a map showing which comuni are in the new province from Jan 2009.

I've seen a couple of cars with the new FM stickers on their plates so they must be pretty ready for it all, although I doubt websites will update their province lists as quickly.

Don't bring that subject up with those who will remain in the AP province as this area is none too happy about Fermo's demands for AP to pay for them to have the new province. Many of the smaller comune are up in arms with Rossi's decision to sell AP assets to fund this split.
