Le Marche Le Marche is a region that is increasingly gaining popularity with visitors - happy to discover the region bit by bit, village by village through the winding roads that connect them together.

Default Finding Friends

We live in London and have recently bought a house in Le Marche (near Porto san Giorgio/Pedaso) and will be spending the summer there with our 12 year old daughter. I'm keen for her to try and meet people her own age, any nationality, she doesn't speak Italian (yet!), but she's not shy and language never seems much of a barrier between children. Is there anyone in the area with similar aged children? Or any suggestions as to where she could meet others?

Just go to the local bar or gelateria with her in the evening - take a seat outside, enjoy the ambiance, have a chat and wait. Italians are curious - especially those of your daughters age. She will have a horde of friends flocking around her within minutes. Perhaps teach her a few basic phrases so she can reply when these new friends ask her where she is from - her age - her name etc.
