I'm relatively new to Italian music apart from years of Italian opera. This girl is great.

What do you make of this part Carole? Do you think he was right?

"Mi scusi Presidente ma forse noi italiani per gli altri siamo solo spaghetti e mandolini."

To put it all back on track - with folklore as opposed to 'pop' here is another Milanese classic which does (sort of) pay homage to Napoli!!!

And you are quite right 'jc' - 'Vivimi' IS among the classics of modern day music...

I think that was his cynicism showing - on how he felt much of the rest of the world saw Italians and their lifestyle back in the 'dopo guerra' and into the 60's!

Gaber was at best a wonderful interpreter of song and folklore - and at worst (?) an extreme radical! But he had a way (as does Celentano) of expressing what the man in the street often thought...

Sally - I'm not elitist - especially when it comes to music - but when you don't know un cazzo about anything within a particular thread, why don't you stai'zitto and learn instead of ruining threads with your irritating, relentless nit picking?

Think glass houses and boulders.
