Hi Lynda
When you say central Tuscany, do you mean the Florence and Siena area? We are are just about to complete on a house in Chianti, and we spent a couple of months looking at various properties through various estate agents in Tuscany.
I would really recommend a super-nice guy whom we met called Martin Pleiner. He is German, but speaks excellent English, and has lived for a long time in Tuscany. He took a lot of time and trouble with us, and had a huge portfolio of properties across Tuscany, many of them very attractive. He doesn't have an office, and works from home through a website and personal meeting. His email address is
info@toscana-immobili.net and his website is
www.toscana-immobili.net
Unfortunately when we saw "the one" it wasn't one of his. Our agent is a firm called Alfa Immobiliare. It is owned by an Australian called Gregory Page, but the staff are mostly Italian. They have offices in Castellina and San Gimignano, and seem to have a fairly firm grip on the expat market in that area. They have been decent, albeit a bit more estate agenty than Martin on the selling side (you know what I mean if you are from the UK). The girl who has actually done all the follow-up work has been very obliging. Their website is
www.alfaimmobiliare.com
Happy hunting
