Default Ferrari have a new sponsor for F1

Ferrari have announced a new major sponsor for the coming season, TATA the Indian conglomerate and car maker.
It isn't so odd, I suppose, because TATA and FIAT have some close industry relationships - but to my eyes linking TATA wth the Ferrari name seems a bit of a beauty and the beast mismatch!
Hopefully the marketeers will 'spin' a bit so that the utilitarian TATA doesn't doesn't do any harm to the prancing horse brand, and I'm sure the liaison will do wonders for TATA. Next year I won't be calling it utilitarian perhaps!

Was it Ferrari (I think it was Lambo though) who started off making tractors? Maybe it's some ponce in a suit who convinved the Ferrari team that there were "historic synergies between two agricultural entities that could produce a paradigm shift in public focus to blah, blah...."

One of my farmer neighbours (here in Ireland) has a Lamborghini tractor. It isn't ancient: 1980s at the earliest. Ugly compared to some of their other vehicles though.

Porsche also produced tractors. I always wanted one to go with my 968.

It was a Porsche 968 racing driver, I think, who was stuck behind a contemporary Ferrari. He could easily catch it on the curves, but on every straight, it pulled away. He decided that his strategy would be "wait until it breaks down". Which it did, two laps later.

Wonder why they want a billion of help then for Jaguar and Land Rover from the UK Government, which TATA just bought. Perhaps it's to sponsor Ferrari.

Obvious really - if the UK is willing to give them money - they'd be daft not to take it.
