I think you have to go into Rome's main station and change.
To save time at Rome Termini station, buy 2 tickets at Fumicino station - one to Rome Termini, and a second from Rome Termini to Terni [don't think you can get a through ticket]. Plenty of trains go to Terni For info, try http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en? The best site for train travel in Europe |

I got last December one ticket from Fiumicino to Narni-Scalo which is just before Terni, had to change at Roma-Tiburtina but that was easy. Bought the ticket at
the train station in Fiumicino airport. (Note: the train didn't pass Termini at all). You could also take a look at www.trenitalia.it (also in english) |

No problem; actually I think it was two different tickets which were given at the same time in Fiumicino, then a simple change at Tiburtina by looking for the correct binario.
By the way found Terni city center to be surprisingly full of all kind of shopping possibilities. Have a nice journey! Paul |
