I seem to recall that it had been raised before (but can't find the thread!) but something seems to stick in my mind that they are good for a few days, but are not as competitive on longer durations.

........also something about 'hidden' costs.

Again, I'll need to search the threads on car hire

Pah, I got the wrong company; it was a posting from Marc about a totally different company that offers dirt cheap car hire..................may be of use though so it's time to give the thread a bit of CRP & revive it.

.............stand clear!

Default car hire 3000

ciao pas55 yes i have used them they are a broker of course and we ended up with a car from avis, no complaints they were competitive, however i use holiday autos now and search the web for the best price then ring holiday auto's and get them to price match, you could do the same for carhire 3000,
you just need to spend a bit of time doing the leg work get a price your happy with then give them a ring? hope this is of use ciao marco

I use carhire3000 - I have found them competitive - and I nearly always get Avis - quite useful - if you on a Ryanair flight - cos the queue is always longer for Hertz - but then I also have Inusrance4carhire - so I always accept the excess.

Strangemly enough I just tried them today & found that their rates were better than my 'usual' option of Skycars.

.....their advertising must be working!

Only complaint with carhire3000 - is once an Ozzie guy chased me up for a booking via telephone - and then I found after checking my emails I had 2 bookings - but they have no cancellation charges -so it was no big issue.

I like the fact I nearly always get Avis - and a little TD - and like Hertz - they dont overly worry about little knocks -

however - Ryanair fly into Parma on a Sunday - Avis aint open then - Hertz is - special deal - they were the easier option that time - that said - I dropped of the car at Hertz - and they are sposed to be open - but no one was around - had to throw keys across the floor - no drop off box - Avis have a letter box

Carhire3000 - Their system is better now - because before - everytime you booked - it was a new booking - but now they have history...

I am expecting better deals..

that said Sixti - flying into Pisa - are dead cheap..
