Default Parking advice for Ciampino - please!

Need to leave the car at Ciampino for 3-4 days later this month. Web site says the long-term parking there is 1900 spaces which looks on the low side given the volume of traffic through the place. Am I likely to find it full? Any other long-term car parks nearby? Any problems with security, beyond the normal precautions?

I know of two people who have had their cars broken into in the Ciampino airport car park.
They were both quite good cars and were broken into just to see if there was anything worth nicking inside. If you are going to park there open everything: glove compartment , cubby holes etc. to demonstrate emptyness!
You could arrive early & find a quiet street in Ciampino town and get the shuttle or a taxi from the station. The taxi is about €8 and the shuttle €1 (pay on board).

Good luck!

The lots at the airport have lighting and there are a lot of people in and out, plus they are very close to the terminal. We have not had issues finding a space.

There is a independant long-term car park (Lowcost Parking), on the road to Ciampino town. Their web site is http://ciampino.parcheggi.it , and you can check availabilty and book online. The daily rate for a 4 day stay is €6.60 euros.
