I was talking to a Carabinieri officer from a hill town in southern Le Marche this past weekend and he said there had been 120 home burglaries reported in this area during the past summer. These were both occupied and unoccupied homes.

There was an article in the local papers last week that also talked about the rash of burglaries in and around the Aso Valley area. Plus I saw another article about transients occupying houses that are ruins.
