Tuscany Tuscany is the most well known Italian region world wide, famous for its art, history and evocative landscapes. Strategically placed in the centre of Italy, it stretches over the slope of the Apennines and reaches the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Default Help with accommodation near lucca

Hi all, we live in Le Marche and are attending a wedding close to Lucca in July - just when the music festival is on of course. We are looking for up to 7 rooms hopefully in an agriturismo, reasonable hotel or bed and breakfast, and as we dont know the area - not sure where would be best - we dont mind driving up to an hour.

Any help gratefully accepted.

Pam

I stayed right in the centre of Lucca, Pam, at a newly refurbished B+B.with a good restaurant beside it. I'll have a wee search later online and get back to you. Lucca as I have said so many times here is wonderful. Lucky You.

I haventl found the festival having too much of an impact on the market, but check out where the event is; if you're looking at being *really* cost conscious, there's north of Lucca (the Garfagnana) that's going to be cheaper, with some much larger places, but may need you to drive.....so, where is all happening?

PM me if you like, or there's Agriturismo.it - Solo Agriturismi di qualità! as a good starting point :)

I would say that Bagni di Lucca would be an ideal location. Only 25 minutes away from Lucca and a very pleasant drive. Bagni itself is beautiful and
there is plenty to do and nice restaurants, etc. I would also say that you will find a good choice of accommodation. In the past, we have rented apartments there and there are also a few hotels. The Garfagnana area is also beautiful, but it is going to take 20 more minutes to get to Lucca. If you have more queries, just ask.

Default somewhere to stay near lucca

Thanks so much for your replies, will get on the internet again today - any recommendations very gratefully accepted. Have found somewhere with availability in montecatini terme for 49 euro a night for a double room which sounds really good.

Would love to be at bagni di lucca though, so again - any one who could have a good price and availability for 6 double rooms and 1 room of 3 for children - may want another couple as well....

Here you have a list of hotels in Bagni di Lucca which are centrally located.
Val di Lima - The guide to Bagni di Lucca and around - Hotels
Give the hotels a call and negotiate with them as you are a group and they may be interested in giving you a special price.
Good luck!
