Hi Camille, my oh and I got married in Florence in 1998 and we went throught the English Embassy/consulate based in Firenze itself who were very helpful in providing all the information we needed. They gave us details of all those who could help us with arrangements and all the officaldom that comes with tying the knot in a different cutlure. It was the best day of our lives and the Pensione Pendini overlooking the Piazza Della Republica was a gem for our stay beforehand. Let us know if we can be of any more help and good luck with your plans!

Last night at supper with friends from Brighton, we discussed their daughter getting married in Italy in 2010. Their friends had warned them that there were many wedding planners in Tuscany and Umbria who "made it up" as they went along. We certainly know of a few places that holding weddings for foreigners and yet have no licence to do so....(are the couples actually married then, we wondered?). Best of all an Italian Wedding Planner near Citta della Pieve, included an Armani suit in the bill, he felt he should look his best at the wedding and the English people paid up!!!!!

Hi Camille and congratulations!
I'm also planning my wedding in Italy but on the Amalfi Coast. I know about a wedding planner ( www.italycoastweddings.com) Mary-Ann is great, speaks perfectly english, follows your ideas and budget and she also organizes weddings in Tuscany in a lovely area called Chianti or in Florence. Have a look at her website. Good luck Lara |
