Help! I’m getting married next August and I don’t have my invitations picked out yet. But since it’s summertime and people plan their vacations early, I’m afraid that there will be scheduling conflicts if I don’t get busy. Should “I send out save the date” cards?

My daughter has the same dilemma. She decided to send everyone a text message saying save the date. This was cheaper, quicker and effective, because she then got replies from everyone!

You can either send save the date cards or choose the cheaper and quicker solution: a save the date e-mail. it is very easy to make a decorative e.mail, you can also add floral decorations or photos. Whichever way you choose to do it, you must absolutely inform everyone before they start booking their holidays. Do it as soon as you can.

An electronic save the date is the best way to get out the information at no charge (texting still costs). Also, building a free wedding website from the knot or wedding channel or wedding mapper is a great way to quickly and easily get ALL information to your guests well in advance to the invitations being sent. Also, for a wedding abroad the invitation rule is a bit trickier and usually we reccommend you post them at least 4 months prior to the wedding up to 6 months to get an early idea of attendance. One other note, when making your wedding website they usually include a section for early RSVP (yes, no, maybe) which is very helpful when budgeting for your wedding.
Best of luck, Adina, Italian Dream Events |
