Hi Suzie,
I am a wedding planner and work in Abruzzo. If you are British you can find some information about legalities in: Marriage of British Nationals in Italy*British Embassy, Italy It seems a little bit complicated, but it’s quite simple. You have to send all the information needed to your Embassy in Rome and ask them to send it directly to your priest. Remember that Rome is the consular district of Abruzzo. Regarding priest, have you tried to contact Don Callisto? If not, let me know and I will send you a pm with his number. If you don’t want to use a wedding planner because you have already booked all the details, remember that there are other kind of services that are affordable as an assistance for wedding legalities or a day-of coordination service. Best, Mirian ![]() |

Don Callisto is an English Speaking Priest, but he lives in Abruzzo. I recommend you to contact someone who lives in Umbria, try to ask Ruth ruth@Assisi-Italy-Wedding-Chapel.org. I'm sure she will help you.
Regarding the consulate of Umbria, is Florence. Best, Mirian |

Hi to all including Fanine.
Well we did it, we held our celebration in Abruzzo just over a week ago. We and all our guests stayed at the Hotel Di Rocco (which was recommended from someone on this forum) for 5 days, this was easy to get to Penne in which we spent some time, we stayed there last year so know it. We could not praise the Hotel Di Rocco enough, for the service while we stayed there, the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to go that one bit extra to make our time special. We had our wedding celebration starting on the Thursday afternoon until the night. This consisted of a fabulous aperitifs on the terrace where no detail nor quality was spared. The meal started at 8pm and the room looked fantastic, the tables were laid out beautifully with chandeliers above us, the band (recommended by the Hotel) were excellent and the staff were fantastic, not to mention the food which was a 5 course meal, the last course being the wedding cake served with fresh fruit. The hotel also arranged a photographer for us the day before who turned out the most fantastic photographs (much better than the UK ones we had done at the UK civil ceremony) The food in the restaurant where we dined some nights was also fabulous. Thank you so much Hotel Di Rocco for making our day and time spent there so special! You do not need a wedding planner for a celebration here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF YOU ARE PLANNING AN ITALIAN WEDDING. Please leave me a message if you need any details or want a peek at the wedding photos. Hotel di Rocco Best Regards Sue and Guido ![]() |

I have a holiday let accommodation within walking distance of the Hotel Di Rocco and we always tell our guests to go there for a meal and no-one has ever been disappointed. Most of them say it was the best meal they've ever had. Anyway, congratulations again.
