Default Rules on advertising

Please could I remind Forum members who offer wedding planning services of the rules about advertising.

It is acceptable to reply to a genuine request from a user who asks about finding a wedding planner, with an invitation to contact you.

It is acceptable to use the name of your business in your signature and/or a link to your web site.

It is not acceptable to start a thread with the sole puropse of advertising your service.

It is not acceptable to get someone to pose a question so that you can answer it, as a means of promoting your business.

By observing these rules, we can keep the Forum useful and informative and avoid it becoming flooded with advertising from rival businesses. The Forum also offers paid-for advertising by means of Google adwords.

Thank you!

My way to comunicate on the forum is to let people know that in Le Marche there are a lot of people who would love to have British speaking the language, understand the traditions and create a bond with the land where most of them have a bought a house. I do not see how that can been taken so in a negative way. I am a teacher of Italian and English, my boyfreind is English, i am doing several services because people in the area have asked me. British are so curious of our culture and if i have used the forum to say that they can contact me for the wedding planning and for my services. It has been only because it is more direct and not so cold and formal as a proper advertisement.
My wedding planning is part of our culture too, I have organized 3 wedding already and i have understood that is not only business but is also a cultural moment for both of us, the people who live here and the people who come here.
I use the forum to try to talk with a Comunity which sometimes is difficult to reach, but which is a big part of our Economy and Social life and it can not be avoided.
Italy is a beautiful country but there is something more to know about it which go quite deeper and which not everybody have the lucky to see and experienced.

We agree with all that you say but so far all of your posts have simply been to promote your activity.

There are many wedding planners in Le Marche and some who even have the legal documents to do so and who don't come onto the forum simply to say I am a wedding planner.

The forum users are quite able to ask for the advise if they need it but it is breaking rules to do it the way have done.

A great way of promoting your activity would be to pay and have a banner on the Italy Mag website or to do ads in their great new magazine called Dream Italian Weddings & Honeymoons which would make it all so much more legal for you and you might also get some trade.

Perhaps then what you are doing might be taken more seriously as ads are not seen in the UK to be cold but to be professional.

Good luck for the future

Paola, welcome to the Forum. We love to have Italian people here, because they have so much expertise to offer. The rules about business are not meant to be critcical of anyone's service, but just to limit the use of the Forums for advertising.... after all, you wouldn't want 15 other people offering the same service in competition with you to be advertising here. We also have rules that prevent people using the Forums from naming businesses that they are unhappy with, to prevent malicious competitors from trying a 'truffa'.

I agree that this is the most wonderful place in the world to be married, because the culture of Italy is so pro-marriage. My wife and I were married at the Campidoglio 9 years ago and as well as the magical location, great food and fantastic guests, the most impressive thing was the response of the 'ordinary' passers-by in Rome, young and old, shouting 'vive le spose!' as we passed-by. It absolutely made our day.

Yep, sorry. Maybe you could help us plan a 2nd honeymoon in a swish hotel in Gradara next year, for our 10th a/v.
