
Police acting under a new bylaw have arrested a youth in Bolzano [Trentino-Alto Adige] for drinking in public, ANSA reports. The bylaw prohibits people from being in possession of open glass bottles or glasses and from drinking from these between 22.00 and 06.00 in city centre streets.
The youth was caught drinking alcohol from a glass bottle whilst trying to spray red graffiti on the marble fountain of Neptune in the city’s main square.
Police have received about ten other complaints regarding people who have been breaking the new bylaw. The penalty is a fine of up to 500 euros.
