A series of international film documentaries, targeting some of the world's most crucial social and ethical issues, are screened every year in Turin's Parco del Valentino.
The 2005 programme opens with William Karel's The World According to Bush (France), which addresses America's handling of its power through interviews and testimonies of key figures including former US state secretary Colin Powell and CIA directors James Woosley and David Kay.
On 8 July Darwin's Nightmare by Hubert Sauper (France) tackles Africa's exploitation by western corporations, with particular focus on the devastating effects on local communities caused by the fish and army trades on Lake Victoria, Kenya.
The following week (15 July) Revolution will not be Televised, by D O'Briain and Kim Bartley (Ireland), documents the power of images and their censorship and manipulation during the 2002 Venezuelan revolution.
