Event Dates

The International Poetry Festival in Genoa, held in the rooms of the Palazzo Ducale and other venues around the city, is a prominent international literary event, boasting relationships with the festivals in Rotterdam and Medellin.

As well as poetry, music and dance, the festival features talks by authors from all over the world about the social and cultural reality of their own countries, seeking to appreciate diversity and cultural similarities among people, their societies and their forms of artistic expression.

This year's edition opens with a live show based on the work of Yannis Ritsos, considered one of the greatest Greek poets of the 20th century. The following day the successful Poetry Night returns with 60 free performances, concerts, readings and installations, taking place from 6pm at the Palazzi dei Rolli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
