Taormina Film Festival

Event Dates

The Taormina International Film Festival takes place in the Palazzo dei Congressi and in the town's famous Greek Theatre. It is a competitive event screening film previews, independent features, documentaries, shorts and tributes to filmmakers of the past.

Directed by Deborah Young, the event includes the Mediterranea section, a selection of seven films produced in the Mediterranean region which compete for the Golden Tauro for Best Film (presented at the Greek Theater during the closing ceremony). Beyond the Mediterranean is a category for films produced outside the Mediterranean region, which compete for the Audience Award, and Grand Cinema screens a new film every evening.
