The On the Road Festival is a forum for international buskers, welcoming a variety of music, video, installations and art performances to the streets and piazzas of Pelago, a charming medieval town located on the Florentine hills.

Past highlights in the music section have included New Yorkers Klezmatics, Embryo from Germany and Italian Maurizio Geri. A final prize of around €2000 is awarded to the best performer. Contestants are provided with free meals and camping facilities, but must be available for the entire duration of the event.
